It is important for us to exchange and compare our (pseudo) "certainties". The presentation was very interesting @ seoblackout and as recalled Paul, Black Hat is reflect and measure the parameters as required from a WH. Border WH / BH is indeed fiction, since everyone can pass without realizing it (like riding a 59 km / h in town).
We see that the secrets of SEO are more in the mastery parameters and quality feedback and in understanding what is available anywhere on the web. @ Laurentbourelly has also recalled that there were many myths in SEO while the rules are fairly simple to follow, eventually.
Regarding wages, there is as always a lot of people dubious about the figures announced. In the small world of SEO, we must see SEO as an element. Next the impact of this element in the company, it will affect (or not) on other elements (technical, marketing, business, hires, driving ...). The experience (real, not years of presence) and level of maturity (skills internal SEO, consideration by the leaders) will also be impacting elements in choosing an SEO profile.
