Let's work is an opera in 3 acts.
The first 2 are in the form of comedy and represent the preparation and repetition of the little sweep, opera by and for children, given in the last part.
Act I, Scene 1. The living room of the house of Mrs.. Parworthy.
The different characters are grouped around Mrs. Parworthy who tells them a story that was conveyed by his own grandmother Juliet Brook. Enthused by this story, the children decide to do a show: will it be a play or an opera? Opera is chosen: but will it be ready in time to be presented during the Christmas holidays?
scene 2. Early stages of rehearsal and successful audition for Max Westleton. Some fragments of the opera music that we hear later are introduced here.
Act II. The stage just before the dress rehearsal of the little sweep. The conductor rehearsed the songs that the public should be interpreted. The Little Chimney Sweep opening but did not begin with one of the songs that require the participation of a choir or / audience: "The song's Chimney Sweep." This air, which is sung before the curtain, trying to familiarize the performers with five beats. The curtain rises on the nursery.
Clem and Bob Black, two sweeps, each in turn sing "Song of the Chimney Sweep", dragging with them the little Sammy, their apprentice chimney sweep. They come to clean the chimney of the nursery.
Miss Baggott, the housekeeper, takes Rowan, the nurse, to protect the piece of dust. Then the two sweeps viciously tear Sammy at his clothes, hoisted into the fireplace, ordering him: "Gratte pipe or what we will do burned alive." Children have borne Rowan, Juliet Brook, Brook Gay, Sophie Brook, John Crome, Tina and Hugh Crome Crome, begin a game of hide and seek in the nursery when John and Juliet hear about in the chimney: "In Help, I'm stuck! "
They call their friends (in this part, the dialogue is spoken) and together they took the rope and begin to shoot.
Then Sammy falls from the chimney. Before the prayers of Sammy, the children decide to hide in their closet for toys. When Miss Baggott and two sweeps back they realize the loss of Sammy. Clem and Bob Black call with Miss Baggott, they embark on a vindictive and ferocious trio "Wait until the catch! "And then disappear to get their apprentice, leaving unanswered the screams of Miss Baggott:" Come back! "Appears
Rowan singing a rather agitated recitative, followed by a softer rhyme, expressing his desire to see Sammy escape his masters.
Children arrive and ask for help. That's when Sammy explains her situation to children: his father had to sell it to find the money to support his family.
Suddenly, Miss Baggott happens. Sammy is hidden in the closet for toys, however, the government wants to ensure that all toys have been properly stored. It was then that Juliet saves the day by simulating fainting. The scene
resumed the following morning when Juliet brings breakfast to Sammy.
Children have organized the escape of Sammy: They hide in a trunk and place it in a stagecoach. When the coach departs, the children rush to send their farewells to Sammy. Thus ends the opera.

MEMORIES FLY

Opera for and by children. The Master of the Capitol-up of children aged 7-19 years-performer "children's opera," Memories soared. Toulouse Cultures slipped backstage at the show.

A pair of lovers, families, hostile, a clumsy scientist, a giant amnesiac ... Here for the main Recollections of the performance ingredients flown. Add to that a good dose of spontaneity and purity of children's voices. For Memories flew not only an opera for children. It is a children's opera, "says the composer Olivier Dejours.
